Information
School Simplified is a digital nonprofit run by high school volunteers based mainly in the United States, with an online community of over 60,000 members. We provide numerous free resources such as tutoring, essay revision, notes, college preparation, and a community where like-minded teenagers can meet and form life-lasting connections!
Yes! School Simplified is a tax-exempt organization under 501(c)3. For volunteers, that means you can get community service hours on School Simplified and add us to your resume!
School Simplified was founded by four high schoolers—Ethan Wu, Ethan Hsu, Nathanael Ma, and Jason Mei—in October of 2020. They originally set out to provide academic resources to AP students in the United States, but it has since become so much more than that. Today, School Simplified is a vibrant community for students across the world that provides a large selection of services and products designed to brighten your future.
School Simplified is run predominantly by students with some adult advisors. You can check out the School Simplified leadership team here.
School Simplified operates internationally through our digital organization, with smaller chapters concentrated within the United States!

Academic Services & Products
Yes! School Simplified's services are 100% free of charge, making them accessible to everyone!
School Simplified offers free tutoring, essay revision, and notes, and more information can be found here. Joining our Discord server will give you access to other services as well, such as free chat-based one-on-one homework help, college preparation advice, and events!
School Simplified is not the one-stop solution for everything. In fact, our tutors often reference resources from established organizations such as Fiveable, Khan Academy, and expert-created sites. However, because students run School Simplified, we understand what you need, how you feel, and how to succeed today, something an adult 10 years removed from school can’t provide!
The Academic Team’s staff are all skilled in what they do. All of them have high grades and exam scores in the subjects they specialize in, and every volunteer goes through a detailed screening process to ensure that they are fit to be a part of the team. Joining our Discord
will give you access to some services not provided on the website, like chat-based one-on-one homework help, college preparation advice, and events. However, joining our Discord
is not necessary: tutoring, essay revision, and notes are open to everyone here
Yes! School Simplified provides academic help year-round. We also provide seasonal services, such as AP review sessions during AP exam season. To keep up with all our events, follow our social media and join our Discord server!
As of right now, most of our resources are catered more toward high schoolers but, this does not mean that college students cannot make use of our services! College students can always submit their essays for review or join our staff for community service hours and networking opportunities.
No. School Simplified has a strict anti-cheating policy. Our staff will not do your work for you, but they are happy to assist you with any questions you have!
Joining Staff
As the largest nonprofit run by high schoolers in North America, School Simplified provides valuable opportunities for teenagers. You can help build code for real-life applications, market and negotiate with people internationally, and help develop products and services. There are also leadership opportunities available. We encourage you to apply here!
Yes! School Simplified is a registered non-profit organization, meaning that any of its staff can earn volunteer hours. Hours are earned by doing work for your team(s), and hours are signed off by your respective supervisors.
We are always looking for new and dedicated staff to join our cause! You can find the applications here.
We understand the inconsistency of grades nationally, especially during the pandemic. While we do ask for your GPA in the application, we look at your entire application when making decisions including AP/IB/SAT/ACT exam scores and course grades.
You should receive a follow-up about your application within four weeks after you submit it.
Since School Simplified does not deal with large amounts of money, staff are not salaried for their work. However, it is possible to get compensation in the form of staff benefits.
